yeah, yeah, gonna put you in my mouth
what you say is dirty to me is purity
wanna kiss you, yeah, kiss you with my best kiss
lips like yrs just gotta be lying
yeah, yeah, gonna put you in my throat
While they underline morality
and if how come i'm so dumb, you wanna spend all yr time w/ me
You got trouble on yr mind
You got it double, thats why you shine
You got trouble all the time
You got it double thats why you shine
Don't call it hell, call it soul, don't call it hell, no
YEAH, yeah, yr mouth
Underline morality
And if how come i'm so dumb, you wanna spend all yr time w/me?
Soul? Hell? soul. no.

Cool Songs - Page 8 EMq57uK

I got to apologise. This song should actually open the thread.

Cool Songs....and you don't get cooler than Television.

Little Johnny Jewel, song's been going through my head constantly for three weeks, has'nt driven me mad, like others do,might actually enjoy the neurosis for once, the radio dial of the mind usually sticks on shit, you can't stand from the radio, telvision or rail station loud speaker.

Three weeks ago,I bought the best pot this year, got stoned and dug for different versions of this song, but love the original ORK single best.

I remember Richard Hell saying they write little psychotic tunes that mirror a psychotic world. That little lead from 1:03 to 1:34,nothing quite compares to that edgey cool....so much, made a little excerpt of the song from 0.00 to 1:34 playing on a loop, still not grown tired of it.Possible top ten song of all time.

Now part of my romance playlist....

(Verlaine)
Now Little Johnny Jewel,
Oh, he's so cool,
He has no decision,
He's just trying to tell a vision.
Some thought that this was sad,
And others thought it mad,
They just scratching the surface,
JJ can do the floor kiss.
Was he on display?
No, no, not today.
All that guy ever said,
He said, "I want my little wing-head".
He half-asleep at night
Over his head, sensation of flight.
And he wake up dreaming,
Dreaming...
And he run down to the airport,
The rush, the roar,
And he crouched down behind a fence,
With a chest full of lights,
Then,
He loses his senses...
Oh Little Johnny Jewel,
He's so cool,
But if you see him looking lost
You ain't gotta come on so boss!
And you know that he's paid,
You know that he's paid the price,
All you gotta do for that guy
Is wink your eye.

Here's Televisions "R&R Animal" version of Johnny Jewel.Knock your socks off...

PostSubject: Jumpin' Jack Flash (The Rolling Stones - Introduced by John Lennon in sign language!   Cool Songs - Page 8 I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 30, 2014 10:12 pm

Could'nt believe Mick Jagger kept this under wraps for 25 years, not being released that is.

Due to him not being satisfied with the Stones performance.Further nudging Brian Jones out of the limelight and contribution

to the band.Best years were with Brian. He may upset a lot the band and frienships in general, but he was the original leader,

christen the bands name, chose many the style of the earlier Stones material.Drugs destroyed his personality and the others

did little to alleviate that, excacerbating the deterioration, even conspiring against him I theorise.Pallenburg runs off with Richards

their new manager takes over many of Brians roles.Alot of pressure and jealousies. He was the best looking and most talented

of the Rolling Stones, exceptional. Why Mick kept this hidden ?,Brian on a bad day was still equal to the rest of the band.

Since it was his last live performance on camera with the Stones,it's posted. The band look great, especially Micks sneering

lyrical delivery.Shame on him thinking this...I for one, favour this video and performance of Jumping Jack Flash above all

others.

Another track from the same performance and another favourite of the Stones.

Although have had an extensive catalougue of Stones material, they just lost that edge after Exile On Main Street.

Between 1977 and 1979,mediocre at best, then one exceptional album,Tattoo You,haha, remember buying that the second day it

was released, still got it,tatty and worn,Just Waiting On a Friend, great lyrics, but Start Me Up was the catchy single, wearing sweat

pants and all that early 80's rage of working out, culminating in that Olivia Newton John song,Physical later in the decade.

I laughed it off,Mick Jagger

no longer set trends,he was following them, same with Lou Reed later in 1986,with his Rap/Rock album,Mistrial,God Awful examples from

these two very influential persons in my life. The Eighties, hollow and tinsel town for the masses, but had an exceptional underground

scene that very few witnessed let alone...bought their albums. It's the time I shifted from the Stones and onto Roxy Music,Brian Eno

The Fall and most of the punk followed.Leading to the Velvets in 86-87,everything changed....finally Understood. What it was all about.

Been having a trip down memory lane it was Brian Jones that came to the fore-front and the original participant to form the 27 Club

and all the conspiratorial murders....eh-hum,death by misadventures that followed to qualify for it.

Winehouse was the last to make it....who they'll choose next ? Has to be someone cool and rebellious...I reject Spears for that, can't be American

keep the satanic rituals English please. :cthulhu:

PostSubject: The Chrome Cranks - Little Johnny Jewel (Television cover)    Cool Songs - Page 8 I_icon_minitimeTue Jul 01, 2014 5:35 am

Memory Lane....Old fag Dave and his MDMA suppositories, died at 30,HIV.

He had the worst taste in music, always sending me invites to these "House Parties" with his elite bum-boys in Sydney,I never went.Bored of superficiality. But he did have some bizarre punk and No_wave stuff, like Lydia Lunch,Nina Hagen and this strange little Foetus guy, think he sang Verklemmt.

So,out of nostalgia,I checked some of them out and found this ripper cover of a Television classic,Little Johnny Jewel. It's almost a grotty scum-rock version...I like it.Enjoy The Chrome Cranks with Foetus.

Come to think of it,no,I'm not ashamed to be attracted to her.

Spose I should admit it,I like my girls dark and serpentine...

Cool Songs - Page 8 3IXChKd

This is how music used to be,gorgeous, chic, cool, nothing like this has sounded so good since The Velvet Underground.I can't thank enough for revival artist like Anton Newcombes connection to The Brian Jonestown Massacre and the lovely Tess Parks, that husky voice, kind of like Lisa Germano, mixed with the southern twang Mrs Hope Sandaval has. These two are so complimentary together, hope no artistic split happens between the two, ensuring many more collaborations.I'm ashamed to admit, extremely attracted to Tess Parks, but I do her justice, advertising her music at Webanarchy Forums in the Cool Songs thread, under the monicker,Billy Ruben. No,not the gay porn star, comes from Silence Of The Lambs, enjoy.

Everything ever wanted in a woman and here she is and I can't have her.
Beautiful cool noir brunette, long haired, beautiful voice, similar to Lisa Germanos and Hope Sandavals,
who likes her drugs, wears the same boots as me,lives in snowy Canada, she'd be awesome, sitting by the fire as
she teaches the three chords needed to construct proper songs, when the ideas come...She is everything.

A love of Antons/Brian Jonestown Massacre led to this unique article...why,can't Australia have ladies like these...
Then again, can't have snow here either, except a few select places.

I love good garage rock and garage punk and man, these dudes are great, even have a Maureen Tucker type drummer,is hot,hot,hot...wait till you see the documentary on them,a short one with Detroit Punk bands being un-earthed.

Kind of get sad,to only stumble upon them now,but that's also exciting, knowing there is so much more to discover.

I'll never get bored of fine tunes, never,it's what keeps me going.I should be happy...no,I am.

Doesn't get better than this, ever heard sounds that give an opiate affect without need for the drug.

This is it,even my cats loved this sort of music.Very smooch they were.

tess parks & anton newcombe,
enjoy

She just rumbles along with this number, ultimate driving song and I thought only feedtime (Australian Band) could do it so well.

Great clip too, several bikers cruising across the desert, nothing like that,Freedom.

Australia and North America is great for that, all climates, sprawling deserts,I'd love it.Might prefer the wetness and rain of Maine and Oregon, but speeding across dunes of sands, listening to this little rumbler,it's what life is all about...pure freedom.

Three piece, female drummer, the influences are obvious and I love their sound.
I was in a PC shop the other week,that's owned by a punk band,nice people,shit music,hate it.
The leader says, pointing to me,"he'd make a good frontman","Not the way you sound, try this band out, probably a bit laid back for you"...I was hinting at this song....

God she's hot,got a thing for female drummers...
